Understanding How Oral Health Shapes Lifelong Health Outcome

Welcome to the Yang Lab
Understanding how oral health shapes lifelong health outcomes
Research Mission
The Yang Lab investigates the biological mechanisms linking oral health to systemic conditions, with a focus on the oral microbiome and inflammation. Our key research areas include:
1. The impact of oral health on birth outcomes and cognitive impairment.
2. The biological and clinical effects of use of e-cigarette on oral health, microbiome dynamics, and inflammatory pathways.
Our overall goal is to move our findings from these mechanistic insights into clinical contexts—improving how health risks are identified, managed, and treated—and into community and population health strategies that promote equity and prevention.
